The Victims of Crime (Financial Assistance Scheme) Act 2022 was introduced to address the challenges victims faced when applying for financial assistance with the Victims of Crime Assistance Tribunal (VOCAT). The Financial Assistance Scheme is due to replace VOCAT and commence no later than 1 December 2024.
